gas stain on lower panel

I'm new to the group. My son & I recently bought a white 96 Formula w/ 5.7 & 6spd. Love it, but. Gas keeps wetting the lower panel below the gas fill spout. It is turning the white plastic panel yellow and creating a buckle in the plastic. I can't tell where the leak is coming from.:banghead: The gas cap seems to fit fine. We can't keep it clean. Any ideas where the leak is coming from? Is it something obvious that I am missing? Any help/advice appreciated.:frown:

check the funnel that goes from the gas cap to the gas tank that might have dried out or might have been punctured. that would be my guess. also check the plastic around the gas cap if hes letting it drip in there and its not draining right that might be it also.
