This is good, Frame problem

For those of you who know I ordered a primed black fender for my Iroc, it came and I got almost every bolt in except the 2 bolts by the bottom and the door. Because the car has been in a couple of accidents, the frame is bent and I'm not sure if I can fix it myself.
While the fender is fastened to everything else (top, hood shocks, fender brace, gfx, bolts to the front bumper) the Fender is rubbing against the door (no clearance EXCEPT near the top) and it's too high, a couple inches. Any ideas?

I can't name all of the things that do work so that's a good thing. I'd rather not names the things that don't work but I know them.

only thing i could think of is jacking one end of the car to try and flex it but when you let it down that might screw up the new fender... otherwise you'd have to have a body shop put your car on a frame rack and bend it back

My dad mentioned that and there's a collision place near here. how much do you think that would cost?

Is the part a GM original or aftermarket reproduction?
If it is a repro it is not going to fit exactly - either the bolt holes wont align, or the body belt line will be off. (or both) cheap import reproduction parts are notoroius for this on just about every make of car not just camaro
From the pics, it appears that may be the case here.(both)
only options -(1) try another fender and hope for a better fit.
(2) Use a GM fender
(3) Re drill the holes to fit & adjust the door to match the fender and get your clearance there
(4) All of the above - depending on the quality and accuracy of the previous collision damage repair
Question- is the door hung in the "correct" position or has it been rigged in the previous collision repair?

I've gotta check all of this stuff tomorrow. I guess I should start by taking it off again. It's a repro, 49.95 and it was 85 for shipping. This is it: http://www.1aauto.com/1A/FrontFender/Chevrolet/Camaro/1ABFE00078/400527
any experience with this fender/company?

no experience with the fender from the company, however i did get a window motor replacement from them off of ebay. It was junk. cheap import rendition of the real thing......... it had more sloppy movement as a "new" part than the old worn out part had (13 years old) and was very noisy. I took the part off and trash canned it. Lesson Learned!

Maybe it's just my imagination but the fender feels light and flimsy, but again that's something I have to recheck. I'll take it off and compare it to my messed up fender.

I took off the repro and I compared the 2. I found a few differences, lighter because the gm fender had metallic paint. There was a construction flaw by where the fender was rubbing, which could easily be fixed by a vice grip but that wasn't the problem, clearance was.
After thoroughly pulling down and straightening the frame near the door (which is what I was told to do) I checked if the door was crooked, it opens and closes fine so I can't say if it is. I'm going to see if I can get a used Iroc-Z fender of any color if they're still open now. But I can't see what's causing such a big problem with this repro.

Alright I bought a used fender in good condition, it's 89 Iroc red, So for now, the car's a lot of blue and a little red, like a cop fallin down the...ahem bad joke. They're taking it off now and I'm picking it up around 4:00.
What really ticks me off was that this cheap fender, which looked okay, was 50 but the shipping was 80!!! Is shipping non-refundable? because I really want my money back from this website. But then I'd have to ship it to them, see my problem? once again, any insight?

I try to stay away from stores on ebay, always problems. As for the door check the gaps on every thing; A-pilar, 1/4 panel, and rocker panel. Also check the pins and see if they bent or anything. I had seen nails used as door pins before so just check every thing.
Also if they dont help you with your fender you can follow up on the feedback and let them have it. Did the body lines line up from the door to the fender?

I've got an IROC hood with the louvers that I need to get rid of if you want it. I'll let you have it for $30 more than the cost of shipping it to you (from zip code 65203). I've sanded it down by hand and sprayed it with primer, repainted the louvers with black sealant so they look brand new. Ill be moving in a couple months and I need to get it out of my garage.

Sorry man, I know you want to sell it but my IROC hood's still standing up in the corner waiting for Install.
The problem still exists, but it's really subtle. The used fender (89 z28 red) fits the 87 much better than the aftermarket one. The lines match right down to the black and silver stripes, (except for the moldings which are different). Like I said, there's a subtle problem with the clearance between the fender and the door, and I had thought it was because the door wasn't on straight, but the door closes fine and I don't want to mess with that. It really is the frame, it hasn't been pushed up a lot, just enough to piss me off. I'm still contemplating what to do but the passenger's door doesn't need to be opened while I'm having the work done. It's something to worry about later on. Until I come up with an inexpensive surefire solution, I may leave it the way it is.
