My 2002 Malibu keeps switching from inside air to outside air by itself. It did it before (under warranty) and the dealer fixed it but never told me what it was. Any clues?

It's a common problem with the control head unit. GM has a TSB for this along with the brake rotor warp, intake manifold leak, piston slap, hub noise, road vibration and turn signal issue. Yeah, they know about it. It's all in the TSB's.

Ignore the TSB on this one. It will tell you to replace the head unit, which is a waste of $120. Go here and follow the link to the repair instructions.
