u can get hairless cats and dogs  or u can get this new breed of cat bred to have either significantly less fur allergens or none at all. i would never be able to go without my pets i <3 them too much.
sidenote, look at the pic i found today of me the night i got my kitten

take lots of pics of ur kitten while he's still small, you're going to be amazed at how tiny he was once he's bigger!

Cute kitten but pets are a trajedy waiting to happen, that's my feeling now lost my cat four years ago :frown: and I will never replace her, any pets I 'get' in the won't be mine.

Okay... got a sad story about this little guy...
Woke up yesterday and went looking for him, but couldn't seem to find him anywhere. Checked every place I could think of without any luck. I was thinking he was just sleeping somewhere hidden and we'd find him a little later, but I had to pee, so headed to the bathroom only to find him inside the toilet, curled up in the bottom of the bowl with only about half of his head above water.
I thought he was dead because he wasn't moving, and his eyes were open just staring straight ahead. It wasn't until I picked him up out of the toilet that he started to cry, but still was not moving at all, and was cold as ice.
Basically, it appears that overnight, somehow, he managed to fall into the toilet, and he's so little that he couldn't climb back out again. I'm not exactly sure how long he was in the toilet, but I do remember hearing him crying around the time I went to bed, and it was the same sound he makes when he's hungry, so I wasn't concerned about it.
Looks like he just wore himself out trying to get out, and succumbed to hypothermia from being in the water so long, and went into shock.
Spent the morning with him wrapped in blankets and a heating pad to slowly bring his body temperature back up, which took quite a while. He appeared to be improving quite a bit, but whenever we stood him up on the floor he would just wobble and fall over and wasn't really making any attempt to move, so we took him to the vet.
The vet held onto him for a while, and eventually, he just kinda came out of it, and looking at him now, you'd never know anything had happened. I swear that cat was no more than about 15 minutes from being dead, so we're lucky we found him when we did. I felt so horrible seeing him there in the bowl like a drowned rat. Got him on some steroids and antibiotics now...
It's true what they say, cats DO have 9 lives...

(One good reason to close the toilet seat!) :lol:True, reading that last post of his, I feared the worse, but glad the little one is doing okay. I would keep the toilet seat down and the bathroom door closed from now on. Try to keep the kitty confined to a area, they love to be nosey and roam around and you will be surprise where they can get themselves into.
again glad little kitty is okay.

that's horrible! good thing he's ok, cats do stupid stuff all the time, so be prepared ;)
my cat loves to go outside and when he was a kitten we used to keep him on a leash tied to a tree. well he climbed up the tree, slipped off a branch and hung himself :( not cool when ur 6 and u walk outside and see ur cat swinging from a tree. my dad saved him tho so it was all ok. my cat is down to 4 lives i believe, he's done a lot of stupid shit over the last decade

Okay guys, not to sound like an ass, but this isn't the first cat I've ever owned... I've had cats ever since I was little, and I'm pushing 30 now. currently, I have 4 of them ranging in age from 8 weeks (Toby) to 5 years (Sophie)... I know exactly how much trouble they can get into LOL. :uhoh:

Glad your cat's fine now.:) This happen to me once when I was little too. 'Cept this was outside and it was lying there on the ground lifeless. It had rained the nite before and it got out so in the morning when we all woke up, we noticed a kitten was missing. We tried to look for it but nothing. Then my Grandma found out outside all wet and dirty. She said it was dead.:frown: So a few mintues later, she tries to pick him up and then that when it cried! We took him inside and covered him up like you did and he got better. A few onths later after is bigger it ran away.:shakehead

I'm glad the "baby" is okay!!!
I remember when my cat JJ was trying to drink from the toilet (no one would turn the faucet on for him, and he won't drink still water) and he fell in... all I heard was *splash* *angry cat noises* and I looked in the toilet and found kitty litter at the bottom! :lol2:

I had a kitten that I rescued from my job, and then I couldn't have it because my mom's allergic. My ex's mom fell in love with it and it lives with them now.
I normally don't like cats, but this cat had such a great personality. Almost made me want to stay with the guy...almost.
