Well yeh theres a place called garage kwai. Its on Central and Arthur i think. When goin east on central u got to make a left on Arthur ( i think ) and keep goin towards the end and it should be on ur rite side. Theres another shop rite by there but i don't know if they're any good cause they are new.

One6 Motorsports right next to garage kwai on arthur. excellent customer service and from what i've heard, they do pretty good work on installs and such. one of the guys used to work for driver's image in skokie. new doesn't mean worse, or better for that matter. but they're very helpful everytime i visit the place. apg ain't that far either. it's in wood dale on irving park. hate to bad mouth them, but don't let them work on your car. they've fucked too many people. they've fucked me before.

One6, apg, garage kwai, driver's image all have showrooms where they sell aftermarket stuff in addition to the shops.

Drivers image is pretty pricey. I mean they're probably good but so is Kwai. Hows your car running? Did you take it to the track?

guys the best place i can tell ya to goto is s.c.a on higgins and golf the manager is silvio martinez. great guy came up as a machinest i talk to him allll the damn time and get great advise from him he's a wholesale dealer realy so its not gunna be wayy over priced and they have all ur lil ricer goodies that everyone loves to look at. im tired of going to these shops where owners dont know shit about cars and im the one givin people in there advice cuz they dont care and want to over price the shit and sell it to someone( sorry i have alot of agression) and i think evolution is good to never been there jus heard good things.

SCA is way over priced man. I bought my dc sports short shifter for 120 from them when i could've got it for 80 bucks at Import Shop! I didn't know Silvio was a machinist?
funkdaflex1
03-12-2003, 02:10 PM
yeah he was a machinist when he was just 16 and thats how he was brought up and got his name out there and there not that expensive and u get quality to unlike buying shit offline where it could be broke or messed up when u get it i would rather just go through him and make like easier.

The number to s.c.a is 847-882-8824. I thought i had blown my clutch about a month ago and i went to silvio and he can get u a stage 1 clutch for 180$ but its not act its a knockoff brand he said he told me its the same thing same pressure plate but just painted a different color and slapped a dif sticker on it. and thats for the entire kit. its almost the same as stock but a bit better. I thought it was a good deal.

so how do u like the clutch?
funkdaflex1
04-09-2003, 08:32 PM
I never ended up buying it cuz when i was there thats what my conclusion was and i had just asked him for a price so i knew what i was lookin at to pay. I took my car to my uncle later that week checked it out and said it was fine so i never purchased it. From what i understand the clutch is really no different from a stock clutch just cheeper.

I know both of the places. iVe been to both. i live right off of Northwest HWY in mt prospect. My friend has a civic HB and we go to one 6 mostly because they are cheaper. One 6 has cool people. Ask for Mark if u ever go hes cool. They know what they are doing and they are very helpful. Garage kwai is cool too mostly better for hondas bc they specialize in swaps and all the good honda shlt.my friend has spent about 1500$ at one 6 so far and all the times theve been cool. I reccomend both of them for anyone. But if ur doing a swap definitely go to kwai. There is also a place off 83 in desplaines called AMS. They specialize in mitsubishi but ive heard they are cool there as well.. Hope my input has been helpful talk to me on AIM if u need n e thing my name is Yellowsupratt98

I was talking with some elgin cops the other day. They were the auto crime guys looking for stolin shit and they asked to look at my car and I said yeah no problem cuz i have nuthin to hide and there lookin around lookin at my cereal number im like dont worrry its not stolen. But n e way I got to talkin with the cops and they were askin me if I knew some teams that have been getttin in some trouble and SHOPS that have been doin some illegal acts.Well one of the shops was APG and I was like oh yeah I was just out there last week and I personally like the store but I thought the guys there were dicks they didnt show me any respect being because im a teenageer or whatever its still uncalled for but anyway the cop was beeting around the bush cuz he couldnt tell me what they were doing but basicly he was saying APG is selling stolen parts and shit soooo people stay the hell away from APG they lieing bastards charging you for shit they didnt even pay for.
mellowboy
07-06-2003, 06:39 PM
I hate APG!!! They always fuck up the customers. I heard they fucked up 2 turbo si's and they said they're not responsible for it. They over priced there shit also. They dont know much either. I'd definatley stay away from APG. I dont know about the stolen parts story but i wouldn't doubt they do have some stolen parts. I'm still suprise there store is still open.

One6 is pretty good. If you go in there often enough and get to be friends with Erik and Paul they will give you in store prices. I just bought an act stage 1 clutch plus flywheel for 500 out the door.
