i have an '04 Venture my gas guage floats around a lot when i turn, take off, and stop. by upto 1/8 of a tank.
after parking, or driving level for a while, it will level out to the proper reading.
not sure why it does this. sounds like my float is loose or something.

my brothers' 97 does the same thing, seems like a common problem. I searched around and I guy told me he put in a can of Sea Foam and it fixed his. I bought the stuff, just haven't put it in yet, I 'll let you know.

if cleaner does not take care of the problem, the sending unit will need to be replaced. im looking for the part number right now but im not having good luck so far. ill reply later if i find it.

I thought most GM's had a floating gauge. They're not dampened, like Fords for example..
