Recirc button on blower not functioning

I tested the recirculation feature on my AC by testing it by holding a tissue to the cowl below the windshield as someone had suggested on an earlier post and its still pulling air from outside at the same rate as if the recirc button was not on/lit.

What shoud i do to fix this?

The recirculate still pulls some air from outside but also uses some air from inside the car. With the car running and the car in normal temperatures or in the evening when things are cool. Put the blower on high then listen to the sound of air near the accelerator pedal. When you press recirculate the sound will change after a few seconds and you will hear more rushing because a door opens there to pull in some air from the passenger compartment. Then you should be able to press recirculate again and turn off the recirculate and you'll hear the air rushing sound quiet down as the door quits using inside air.

Recirc is 80/20, btw good advice, imadazol97.

Trust me its not working. Also , when i turn the unit off air still comes in through the floor vents as i'm driving even though the fan is not on which tells me that the door is stuck in the open position.

Where is this door located and how easy is it to fix . Should i just bring it to the shop or will it cost an arm & a leg?

With the air off, air will flow down by your feet. I feel it on my car when I have sandals on. I read in my manual that it's designed like that. Then want fresh air coming into the car so it doesn't get stale. There is vents to let the air out also.
