4.3l turbo?

i have a '97 2wd 4.3l s10... thinking about putting a turbo on it...does anyone know how much boost the motor can hold safely? i know the typhoon was boosted around 14psi stock but would this be safe on my '97? also if anyone has put a turbo on there 4.3l i would be greatful for any and all insite you can give me. thanks for the time.

its a pretty durable motor but i think the typhoon had lower compression to handle 14 psi. if your going to run 14psi you better have a fuel controller (or aftermarket computer), intercooler, and a 255lph high pressure pump. if you just run 14 psi to a stock injection and fuel system then its not long before that engine goes boom....


oh yeah! your going to need a good tuner as well. fuel controller or aftermarket computer is useless without someone who can fine tune it.
