aluminum wing???

hey, yes i am new here, but i have been lurking in the backround for quite a while. i am 17 and own a 4g (canadian) 90 cx. Ill post pics soon. But for my question. I have been offered a really good deal on an aluminum wing (100$ candian) and i am wondering if i should take it and slap it on the civ (on top of the exsisting small hatch spoiler).... the arms on the aluminum spoiler are not as tall as say the one on the supra in the fast in furious and might actually suit my car... if anyone has a pic of it already done, id appreciate lookin.... and please please tell me what u think i should do. thank you... aka, 90civic4u2nv

ya that black one there... thats exactly it... i dont think it would look that bad u think?... kinda unique cuz u never see them on hatch civics??.... i wanna give it a try real bad.... but i still want input from u peeps... just like the black civic wing pic above people... thanks.

Eh, it doesn't look that bad. But it really doesn't serve much of a purpose. I know that some car like the Mugen/Spoon/J's Racing (I forget which one it was!) Hatch had a Touring Wing on it on top of the stock spoiler. So it's not that bad. But still sort of pointless.

I'll admit to the wing not looking too bad, but really, there is no point for that spoiler except the aesthetic pleasure. Unless you converted your Civic to RWD, then you could take advantage of the additional downforce.

you can do what ever you want..... but no matter what you do, if you put that wing on your car WILL be considered:apuke:RICE

If you could find a way to remove your stock lip and then put the spoiler on, I think that would be OK.

I also think that no spoiler at all (even the stock one) looks hella badass.

hmmm no, no that would still be rice... in fact EVERY aluminum wing on import cars are gay, no matter how you attach it. Now when it comes to any other type of wing.... they may look okay if positioned right. just my $.02

Why put a rear wing spoiler? Do you really need downforce for rear wheels, on a FWD car? It does not have any effect until approx. 150mph. At those speeds lift is created and the rear of the vehicle will begin lifting off the ground. It's a waste of money if you were to ask me, but if you really think it looks good then do what you gotta do. I like the looks of the JDM rear-wing w/ 26" LED 3rd brake light. You could always install the aluminum wing centered over front tires. That means hardcore performance man!

Idon't know what the others think but if the wing can have enough angle dialed into it, pull off the stock wing and bolt the aluminum (aluminium for some of you people) one there. That, in my opinion, would look great! Try it before you bolt it down and see how it would look or if it would work. Have a friend hold it in place. Oh yeah, put some pics on here if you can.

ok cool im gunna do it, and if u guys think it looks bad, then im takin her off.... i mean, why should i have a bad lookin car :silly2: .. but ya, ill take pics of my car as it is now, and then hopefully take pics of the spoiler on a.s.a.p. ... well ttyl people... by the way, my mods to my 90 civic cx are to date - intake, straight pipe exuast, clear bumpers and corners, 'yellow' foglights, painted black rims(race look lol), tint all around (all 4 side windows), eyebrow(Honda Racing), rear window decal(Team A-H), blue reverse lights, 2 24" blue neons, 1 blue strobe inside car, pioneer deck and speakers, 'Honda' seatbelt covers... haha not bad for havin the car for 2 weeks. LOTS more to come a.s.a.p. ill keep ya all informed.

Honestly it will look like ass. Those spoilers looks so cheap and they look like they have just been slapped on. Cleaner is better! SAY NO to APC and gay spoilers! :)

..yeah i have DONE all those mods to it in 2 weeks, lol and no i dont have fuck all for money... oh and on those list of mods, u can now add a 4" indiglo tach and a radar dectector hehe.. lol but ya, i get sum money real soon, and im painting the bumpers same color as car, indiglo guages (to go with tach), lowering car 4 inches and blue underglow.....
i love my car so much, shell be so pimp, but god damn, shes blowin blue and im not likin that.... engine rebuild this winter baby. PGI injection with that.

oh and one other thing... my plates are custom saying "ALL SHO" hehehe, that was a fair buck spent.
