Hello,
This is my first thread so bare with me. I have an 82 GT with 101,000 original miles. Only mods I did were gut the emissions and put on an Edelbrock Performer 750cfm carb, Edelbrock Performer Intake to match(non egr), aluminum water pump, Accel ignition wires cap rotor coil, used rims and tires from my brothers 88 GT(turbine) because this one had the TRX expensive wheels, a superb sounding Flowmaster American Thunder dual exhaust system with Summit H-pipe and 85 Gt stock headers. This is the original engine(302) with a freshening(Summit hypereutectic piston engine kit at 89K). It runs very very good and dependable. One thing I need to concentrate on now is suspension because it is a boat, certainly not like my brother's 88GT. His is stiff and drives like a racecar. What can I do to mine to get it close to the suspensions of the later foxbody's? It bob's back and forth when I shift on acceleration, same thing slowing. I put new shocks on the rear, but didn't do much of anything. Any ideas you mustang enthusiasts have for me to tighten this baby up would be greatly appreciated.

You can get Strange adjustable front struts for just over $100 a peice that will really help up front. Also as GTStang said I would suggest looking into bushing & balljoints. Subframe connectors will help with the car flexing as well.

Ironically, I just put a Maximum Motorsports strut tower brace and underneath suspension brace on my brother's 88 Gt. Too expensive for me right now, but I do agree they are very good at making suspension parts. The parts are made with some thought, unlike alot of other cheap parts you could get. By bushings, you mean sway bar links and etc? As for ball joints....does this really make a difference? I havent heard that before and as I like to say, you learn something everyday! Thanks people.
