I am sorry if I missed a thread on this, but I am on an insufferable laptop and the search feature was taking forever (loading the new thread page took about 4 minutes).
I have a 95 Rodeo 4x4. Alternator just gave out today. I saw enough to know that I need to relpace it with OEM, but I didn't see anything about how difficult a job it is to replace it...where's it located/how hard is it to get to? Should I expect a frustrating day of bloody knuckles and explicit language? Should I set aside an entire day for this?
Any help/tips on this would be helpful. Wifey and I are flat broke so I really have to repair this as cheaply as possible...so if you have any kind of advice on what I should expect or if I need any special tools to do this...please tell me.
Thanks for any help you can give me, including helpful links I can check out when I have access to a better connection.
P.S. Before Im going to be checking out the Chilton manual for this first thing tomorrow when the library is open, of course. Just wanted first-hand help if possible. Those manuals make everything look so damn easy...

I have the 3.2L in a '97 4X2 and it was super easy. Loosen and remove the belt (2 bolts below the alt). Remove the 2 electrical connectors (1 nut and 1 snap on harness). Remove the 2 mounting bolts. Replace. It was really easy. It's up front on the passenger side of the engine.
What year and engine do you have?
