Gas mileage

I get roughly 18 mpg. that cant be normal on my stock KA24E, can it? It was changed from an auto to a Five-speed. Could it be the ECU? like could it still have the auto ECU or would I know for sure? The car runs great but the fan on the front of the motor seems to be on all the time. Anyone got any Ideas?

no thats not good i get great miliage im not sure what but would say around 30ish i get about 300-350 to the tank and fan is a clutch fan i believe. i wouldnt think an auto ecu would kill your milage like that. my car had a prob for a while. i burnt gas bad. even on idle it was puffin black. i played with connecters and such on motor and it ran good. musta been loose conection on mafs

Do a tune up?

could it be the O2 sensor? like maybe its busted and then it runs way rich or something. but I would smell gas all the time right? well I do want to swap it with an sr so I will deal with the bad gas mileage if I camt do something about it that wouldnt be a big deal. I mean the engine has like 190000 miles on it.

damn, im getting like 230ish per tank. I feel like im getting jipped here. What exactly could be a source for these problems? Im gonna clean my MAFS, and maybe pick up a new O2 senser.

I used to only get about 240 till I changed my fuel filter and realized that the stock fuel line had gotten really old and cracked and was gushing a shit load of fuel.
