Door Locking Problems

Hi, recently my jeep cherokee limited ed has been playing up.
When i come to lock the doors with the remote nothing happens - so i tried the spare - nothing happens.
the funny thing is it can't be a centeral locking problem because the button that locks the dors inside of the car still works :rolleyes: anyone ?

What year? The remotes are flaky. Run it with just the circuit board and see it if works? Later models need a Chry-Jeep programer unit to reprogram.

You did not say what year. Or...what is a 51 plate?

The remote system is different depending on the year because of the Chrysler-Daimler-Benz transistion.

I personally have a 97 and an 01 and they are completely different. Different packages also determine a different computer unit.

OK...my experience with the 01 is that the remote has a weak signal. When I bought mine at a Jeep dealer...they replaced it while trying to program. It is still weak but it works if you are close to the vehicle.
