AC blower keeps running without car key

I have a 2000 E320 and the AC fan won't stop running even with the car key out. I looked at the fuses and pulled 4 and 7 (AC blower fuese according to the fuse paper) and the blower still kept running. The only way to stop the blower was to unhook the + battery cable.

Any ideas?

the blower ressistor could cause that. it is on the pass side under the glove box.

I took it to the Benz dealer and it ended up being the blower control unit (so they say). Well $700 later.............It's just ridiculous. My E320 turned out to be the most cumbersome car I ever had (and I had plenty). Of course everything happened after the warranty (mostly electrical stuff and expensive). I will get rid of it very soon.
