i have an 87 chevy silverado 1/2 ton pick up 2 wheel drive , vin 1gcer14k4hf410676
now what i need to know is
1. in the dash there is no ses light just a choke light that comes and goes but it is efi, should there be a ses light
2. the only gauges that work are the speedo and fuel
3. if i go to summit and search by make /model it dosent show a 87 for silverado or k 1500 the k 20 shows a 87 so what is my model?
4. rpo code in the glove box shows a 305 wtf?
5. wires to the trans were cut and trans was cooked
6.vin shows it is a 350 :banghead:

so thous are the main problems the big ones are the gauges\dash and what the actual model is (the fender could have been replaced)

this is a very good truck and i want to fix it up and drive it but i wont be happy untill the little things are fixed and it has a few mods like hedders, cam, computer tune, and a few suspention stuffs

any help with any of this will be greatly apreciated

Your 87 is a C1500 (C = 2WD, K = 4WD). It should have a check engine light but the gauge cluster could have been replaced or the bulb is burned out.

The engine block should have a casting number that will tell you what engine you really have. See http://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm to find your casting number.

an 87 is the boxy body style, there for the actual body style name is a c10. They didn't start calling them 1500's until 88 when the body style changed.

The '87 was actually R/V, R is 2wd, V is 4wd. The check engine light is actually above the guages still on the insturment panel.

I have a 89 R 1ton that someone put an earlier gauge cluster bezel on. When the choke light comes on it's really the check engine light. It depends on which cluster bezel you have.It should read check engine
