I'm planning on ditching the stock system in my cavy soon. My question is, have any of you tried sony xplod 6x9's? I've heard from a few people that they don't last long, but from all the brands I've had an opportunity to listen to the 320watt 3-way sony xplod 6x9's were superior in bass and sound quality. Don't go bashing if you don't like sony's or know of better ones, audio is not my expertise.

i wont go bashing sonys but i dont like them. i have the alpine type r's in mine and i can turn my cd player all the way up (62) with no distortion. again it comes down to how much you are willing to spend. if you aren't getting subs it wouldnt recommend the alpines. i dont like the bass quality they put out. then again i have my cd player bass setting all the way down and let the subs take care of it. personally i would go for infinitys, alpines or rockfords

:werd: i have alpines all around, head unit also. proly the best bang for the buck in my words. dont care much for rockford, i would rather go infinity, jl audio, mb quart if ur not on a budget. in my opinion u get what u pay for in speakers. it just all depends on what sound you are looking for. i would def. get an alpine head unit though, the BEST out there.

I have jbl consumer 6 1/2s in my doors and infinity kappa 6x9's running off of a rockford 501x 4 channel - sounds loud and clear with my clarion head unit (just 1 mtx 9500 in the trunk provides plenty of distortion free bass) - kinda helps i work at a radio shop
its true you get what you pay for ---- if you want qaulity dont go to walmart

Thankyou for the feedback, looks like I'm off to the city to find some decent speakers.

i have always been a big fan of JL audio products. but alpine wouldnt be a bad choice either. alpine would prob be my second pick.
