Water In Trunk

I recently bought my LS. One day it wouldn't start and I went to jump it. The battery and the power distribution box are in the trunk and were surronded by 3 inches of water. I have brought it back to the dealer 3 times and crawled in the trunk myself while someone soaked it with a hose and no one can locate the leak :banghead: Every time it rains though another half inch or so of rain is filling the spare tire well for some reason. The car is starting to stink, the windows fog up and it can't be for the electrical to get. There is mosture in the drivers tail light also. If there were any recalls or if anyone has any info on a fix please help me out. Thanks

I had this in my 2000 LS . Once the rubber seal around the trunk was replaced, no more leaks.

and if that doesn't work - you may have to re-seal around the holes where the taillight bolts go through the rear of the quarter panels.

Yup, like a fishbowl back there right in front of the passenger side tail light, I think the above statement was right about the trunk molding, in my case anyway because the pool of water couldn't have collected from the holes for the light.

Go to Home Depot/Lowes ,buy some black silicone for Exterior doors & windows and WD40.

Apply a clean bead of silicon on the outer edge of tail lights and using a finger tip with WD40 will give it a glass finsh look.

Water likes to roll in the trk through the tail lights.

PS. I had to use a Turkey baster to get the water out of the BOOT in may Jaguar.
