whats the best way to lower my car and what are the best brands to use

Everyone has a different opnion about suspension. Some like springs and some like coilovers. If you live in a area that gets snow in the winter than i would go with coilovers so you can raise it up for the winter. I have heard good things about Ground Controls. I have coilovers on my car and i had to get a camber kit to straighen so the front wheels out so i didn't eat up too much tire. If i would do it again i would go for a set of lowering springs. You defiently get what you pay for when it comes to suspension. For springs i really don't know ebaich ? Ask around. Suspesnsion can get expensive quick. You have the cost of the spring/coilovers, camber kit if you go low enough, alignment, shocks if you get new ones and if you don't do it your self than you have installation cost. Save up and buy good stuff.

i've got Skunk2 coilovers and i like them. They also shortned my 60' time by.15 sec!

shit..I always had coilovers but was always too damn lazy to lift my car up for the snow ;) ...plus, once you've got it low its tough to look at it back up high :(

if you go w/ coilovers, make sure you get a quality setup like skunk or gc...

so if i were to get coil-overs would i have to replace anything and how easy are they to install

If you get coilovers, then I would recommend getting a good set of aftermarket shocks. If you install the coilovers on stock shocks then you will eventually blow out the shocks. Then your car will ride like shit. On my car I have GC coilovers and Tokico Blues. After lowering the car to my liking, the car is about 2" lower then stock. So I am gonna be installing an Ingalls camber kit so the tires won't wear out unevenly. If you only lower the car 1.5" then you don't really need a camber kit. You could probably just get an alignment and that would work. But anything past 1.5" and I would suggest getting a camber kit.

well..you'd 'want' to replace the struts....you dont have to but disassembling the strut assembly isnt the most fun thing in the world so the less you have to do it, the better ;)

as long as everything comes off easily..no stuck/broken bolts or anything....its pretty simple..disassembling the strut assembly is kinda dangerous....I hate spring compressor's, so my method for this is to take off the center nut while the car is on the ground...the weight of the car absorbs the pressure of the spring as you slowly jack it up....the new spring should be short enough that it doesnt need to be recompressed...and if it does just throw the assembly back in and put a jack under the control arm and jack it up guiding the top of the piston through the hole in the chassis...that's the safest way I've found and I've done it a bunch of times..... other than that, its pretty straightforward....

eibach pro-kit or sport-line springs rule, and you need a camber kit with them, trust me. you'll go through a pair of tires in a month if you don't. on our 4g 4doors the eibachs go way low (eibach says only about an inch, but it's a lot lower) so you need the camber kits both front and rear. i love eibachs. tokico shocks kick ass too. if you were to have a tire place put on your springs and camber kit, expect to pay about a grand for the kits and the install... their labor costs are outrageous. they wanted more to put on my springs than the springs cost.

HEy guys, i have Tockiko blues and a set of eibach sportline springs, i haven't installed them yet, but once i do, i will deffinatly tell you guys how they are. So many people recommend Eibach Springs, so i went with them. And i know that tockiko shocks are really good also, well, i hear this from all of you guys on the board. So i hope i wont need a camber kit, but if i do, OH WELL! I guess i gotta do it!
