I just replaced all the disk pads, the 4 rotors and the sensors on a 1990 535i but I still get the BRAKE LINING error message on the dashboard.
Is there a way I can reset it without going to the dealer?
Thanks,
Ariel

There is no "reset", you have one of two problems,
A] the most likely is resistance or an open in the harness loop the C.C. board is 'reading'. This will require someone with some experience with the system be it dealership or quality independent shop. If it's in the harness the cluster can be 'fooled' turning the display off but this also makes the system non-functional...................it's by far the cheapest "fix" for a harness problem.
B] A cluster problem but the troubleshooting's the same as above, just a different outcome that might keep the system functional.
