How much for a "ghetto rebuild?"

"do a ghetto rebuild with the engine in the car and just replace the rings,bearings and gaskets"

What would be a reasonable price to pay for this?

I just had the PCV valve replaced and added some motor honey. And i'm going to have someone do the timing and valve adjustments. (It's running rough)

New clouds of smoke makes me think it's a bad vavle stem seal. Is that easy to identify/diagnose with the head off?

And I guess i also need to be considering the Engine Restore additive.

i did a "ghetto rebuild" it is actually called an overhaul, but it was a half a day job knowing what your are donig. so you can do the math then. i think it was around $100 for the parts. maybe a little more.
