Gas smell

I have a 96 jimmy and every time i fill it up and start to drive you can smell the gas inside the truck for a few minutes. Does anyone else have this problem or know what it might be

You either have an injector leak, or your evap system may be hosing up (if the solenoid dosen't purge right away you can get a bit of fume)

hey I know this is an old thread but, I've been having this EXACT problem. The smell of fuel, quite strong inside the truck, for a few minutes after a fillup.
I doubt it is an injector leak. '97 truck runs strong and no problems. Mileage is good.
Rlith, what can be done about this? what do you mean by 'hosing up'?
new solenoid? new hoses?

hosing up=failing...
Check your fuel pressure to be sure. If the injector or regulartor has a slight leak, doesn't mean that you will lose a lot of power... And again, look to the evap system.. Also for giggles, look at the tank breathers (you have 2 of them on top of the tank)

i guess we are so used to the large amount of canadians from the great white north on these forums, hosed/hoser is just a given.
