This is the Tamiya 360 Modena Spyder, with the Lion Roar PE set and Scale Auto Style (SAS) aerodynamics. I’ve also added Scale Auto Style Recaro seats and Aoshima wheels for an added touch.

Here’s a better look at the wheels and the start of adding the PE mesh.

It was a royal pain cutting open the cooling mesh in the Tamiya kit and not breaking anything. Also, the inside bracing needed reinforcing as it was too thin and wobbly. Hence, the use of Evergreen strip (I keep a supply of Evergreen and Plastruct specialty shapes around for just such an occasion.
Next is the body with the SAS body parts attached. The SAS parts are supposed to represent the Challenge Stradale cladding, but it does not appear to be quite aggressive enough for that. That said, it’s just right for a slightly modified Spyder.

The body mods still need a little tweaking and final prime/sand. Still haven’t chosen a color yet (except this one will not be any Red). To the right are the Recaro seats I plan to use. The interior will be detailed as I usually do.
Suggestions or comments are welcome.

i think the wheels are not for it. They have to be bigger. IMO

Looks good so far, the wheels might look a bit too "stock" now that they're on F430's, unless you add some sleeves.
I've had a very similar project on the bench (well, stored over the bench usually :uhoh: ) where I've fitted the SAS body components and intend to build the car as a mild tuner; my paint scheme will be Ferrari yellow w/black interior w/yellow accents that are similar to a 1:1 that I saw. I've fitted some Aoshima 19's; takes some work getting aftermarket rims to fit this model as Tamiya's wheel spokes are very thin and the brakes are so far outboard that most other wheels stick out without some surgery.
It was nice to get these Modenas so cheap at Hobby Lobby, I also have plans for a pseudo-Challenge Modena coupe, though now w/Fujimi's F430 Challenge I may take the easy route and just build that one in the undecorated white w/red interior that I saw a 360 Challenge car in.

I tend to agree a little with you.
When I started this project, I liked these wheels (18" diameter) but as Bob (ZoomZommMX5) said, they do look pretty close to the F430 stock rims. I'm looking through my wheel parts boxes to see what I might do with this. It needs to be different than the wheels I've chose for the 612 Skag and F430 coupe. I'll post an update when I make my new choice:confused:
