this is rediculous. but what do i know im just a normal member

You might want to take a look at the history of these forums. A lot of people have been called out, and those that produced are still here as contributing and respected members. Others that didn't, went away, and the forums are much the better for their loss.

Seriously. Justify his continuing existence in here, if it turns out that he is some bullshitter that has been taking all of us for a ride (on his imagination) for all these months. I'd like to see how you defend that.

Do you not get suspicious when he starts spouting off with a simple request for a picture? Do you not get suspicious when after all this on-purpose "abuse", all he can respond with is that he's being "harrassed", when all he needs to is to produce, and shut EVERYBODY up?

I am being an ass on purpose, so that when he finally shows me up, it will be that much more satisfying for him. He will "show me up", right?

If all you want is for me to tell you that I don't own a car, then I will.

I here by officially retract every statement I have ever made about owning a car, or even having the ability to drive.

well you do make some good points, i dont think you can not have some doubt when he gets pissed when someone asks for pics. but the reason ive let it go is because hes been here for a while, and not made any threads/posts that have seemed to far fetched. he seems like he knows what hes saying most of the time. but you do make some good points, i guess i would have gone about it differently but thats your style and theres no problem with that really.

i will add though that i still dont think it means the forum rules should be blatantly violated, although ive done it myself.

I'm not pissed that he is asking for pics, I am pissed that he is doing it in my thread. If he wants to make a thread to "call me out" and call BS on me, that's perfectly fine by me. But I know if I had a problem with somebody, I'd atleast show them the respect to keep it out of their information-based threads, but that's just me. And do you not think it's obserd to ban a member because he is not going through with rediculous requests to prove something you don't even care about to begin with? I mean how would you respond if I told you to go on some majestical quest to take pictures of your car or face a banning? Does that not sound completely rediculous? You might care what people on the internet think about you, which is completely fine, but I don't.

I guess I'm not banning anyone then. We just ask for a little honesty in here--it's all we can give each other over the internet.

You're still a jackass for lying this whole time, but at least you learned to man-up.

Now, was that so fucking hard?

carrrnutt, why do you even car if he has what he says? you're threatening to ban him for being a non-contributing member, but hes never posted anything that isn't believable. he offered his knowledge when people asked a question. now hes asking for some information, and you just come in and start shit just cause he doesn't have pics of his cars. whoop-de-fucking-doo. maybe he has what he says he does, maybe he doesn't... does it really matter?

edit: never mind, i guess im a little late

well no i dont necessarily think you should be banned for not showing the pic. most of the time when a bullshiting member comes along we piss him off so much that he wont come back. i dont think you should be banned for not showing a pic, but im not the mod... but you have to admit, it would have been quite easy for you to just post a pic a long time ago.

I've told you I'd retract everything for the purpose of not arguing for hours on end since the beginning. Why do you think I changed my sig when you started bitching about it? I've given you all the honesty I could give, but just because I don't prove it, doesn't mean it's not true. But whatever, maybe you can stop being a jerk now.

Wow.

Even when you're admitting to bullshit, you are STILL bullshitting. You have 25K to spend on a new car (not to mention the cars you already claimed), and not 20 to 50 bucks on a mediocre camera?

You know we ban anyone under 13 on sight right? because you HAVE to be right around that age or younger to be this obtuse about your situation and how you are presenting yourself.

Anyways, now that the bickering has ended, what do you guys think about a VR-4 with 40-50k miles as far as reliability? These cars have gotten a worse reputation online than almost any other car, I must say. Worse than *dare I say it* DSM's and crankwalk.

reliable... probably, but they are heavy, don't like to turn, or stop, or go without wasting gas... there was a pretty good article in road & track a few years back pointing out a lot of flaws in the 3000gt platform...

why would you want one anyway?

Lots of reasons I guess. For one, they are probably one of the sexiest cars for under $100,000 (IMO, of course). Two, I LOVE LOVE the interior. I know it isn't the most comfortable, spacious, or highest quality, but I just love how it fits you like a glove. To me, a nice, sporty and aggressive interior really adds to the overall feel of a car. I mean nobody wants to get into the cockpit of their $50k sports car and have it feel like you are driving a mini-van do they? I dunno though, some people choose comfort over a sporty feel, but to me, the interior really sells me on the car. Then there's the sound of that engine. My friend had a 93 Stealth and I fell in love with the sound. It sounds so sporty and aggressive. I really could go on and on about why I want the car, they are probably my favorite Japanese import.

The only thing scaring me off would be the reliability and high cost of maintainence. The 60K maintainenece isn't THAT big of a deal, but I'm more afraid of the notorious transfer case and synchros.

I did consider that one, but the looks don't really do it for me. Plus they aren't as fast as I'd hoped they'd be. They're about low-mid 14s aren't they?

msn autos has it timed at 13.84 and 14.09

whats weird about that is the sportier model got the 14... it must have been a bad launch or something.

if you are planning on spending that much, why not just get an FDrx7 or an MR2 turbo... or a 4th gen supra?

I'd consider a Supra, but all the MK4's around here are godly expensive for all the miles they have on them. All of the ones I have seen with less than 80k or so miles were about $30k+. I figure my budget for the DD is going to be about $20k, unless I find something that is too good of a deal to pass up.

very understandable. they have very normal car looks. they are one of the cars i have considered buying in the distant future many times... i guess i like em a lot, but i like mazdas.

that made me think of something, PTP had a turbo kit out for the RX-8 in car&driver and it made 390hp, street kit said to make more like 360. reliability might not be what your lookin for though.

How bout z32 300zxTT; still sexy, nicer interior IMO, RWD, Fast, easy to mod (well kinda sorta till the first 400ish HP), more reliable IMO, stronger tranny, etc... and they're relatively the same price.

For some reason the only Z32's I ever see for sale are 90-93's, seems like no one wants to sell their 94-96's, guess it a testimate to how good that car is.

Same with the 97-98 240SX's, bastards dont want to let someone else enjoy the car, but then again if I had one I wouldn't sell it either.

Reason for both cars is low sales numbers in the later years, reason why they were axed in the US market. That's why you don't see to many of the later models.

Too bad F&F didn't come out earlier:silly:, like in 1996, then maybe they'd still be making these cars.

Don't know where on earth you are hearing they have a worse reputation then DSM's crankwalk. 2 members on here, have had bad times with tranny/t-case issues. 2. Yes, 2.
My vr4 had 42k when I bought it. So far the problems have been bent rims (potholes fault...not reliability) oil line leak (NY winters = rust, replaced for $150 with SS lines), and most recently an injector circuit issue. Which has been elusive, but I havn't wasted more than $100 on it.
Is it as reliable as a Honda, NO, are they all lemons, NO. The car is average in reliability, and when a car is average in reliability, the previous owner's driving habits and maintainence become a larger factor.

And yes, compared to a mr2, the 3000gt is heavy. Hell, compared to an mr2, a Harley is probably heavy. But it is relatively equal in weight to all the cars it competes with, so that argument is really really really getting old.

AWD and AWS, it turns fine :iceslolan
Nice big rotors and 4 piston calipers, it stops fine :grinyes:
More driver room than a TA
With only 326 96 vr4s in the US, I don't see somebody else driving my car every day
And lastly, how many times does anybody else's car get mistaken for a Ferrari?

Maybe I'm a bit biased, but I happen to like mine just fine.

Check out twinturbo.net and 300zxclub.com, becuase alot of times they'll have really nice ones for sale. But with 20kish to spend you can find one, just make sure it's not a 96' model, because they didn't have variable valve timing, and are therefore "not modible" (pretty much there's no aftermarket for the 96's).
