I wasn't looking for a new car to get ride of my truck but after this deal I'm thinking about it. My girlfriends uncle is selling his 1998 WS6, it has 22,000 miles on it. He is always gone on business so that is why it has no miles on it. Also he just had a kid and that is not a family car so he said he would sell it to me for $14,000 and is willing to flex a little bit. It has leather, t-tops, cd player, premium sound, auto, Flowmaster exhaust, corvette rims and is in perfect conditon. What do you guys think of this deal? Here is a picture of it.

dude dont let that deal go. That is better than a great deal. 22K miles WS6 for only $14K. It looks to be in great shape from the pic, cause it has 22K miles. If you want it go and get it. Its low miles, great shape, GREAT GREAT PRICE, and you know it hasnt been beaten the shit out of since its your g/f's uncle.

First thing....ditch the flowmasters. :grinyes:

Sounds like a pretty decent deal. Those wheels are begging for a drop, but that is pretty simple stuff.
Looks like a nice car!!

So, what is there exactly to think about? Jump all over that thing, what a great deal. 22K on it, that's less than 4K a year. I think its a great investment. Plus it looks decent enough.

Looks like an awesome deal to me. For the price you can't go wrong. Heck, list it on ebay and see if you can get more for it :D

Like the color and the rims.

Beware of the power of that car, especially in the snow.

Haven't scraped anything.

Nothing wrong with how Flowmasters sound....it has to do with the serious lack of flow.

I think it depends on how often its driven, cause yours isn't your daily driver so you probably don't run into to many uneven surfaces..

Thats a DAMN Good deal. I will have to beat u if u didnt go for it

i paid 13,500 for my 01 firebird 3.8L V6. It was worth it though. 30k miles, 1 owner who didnt smoke and was a 30 year old lady(didnt beat it) and all leather interior and near mint condition. I dont regret it.

i think you need the gold phoenix decal on the hood: 100% phatness:smokin:

and 97sle that's a pretty sharp lookin ride,, i'd pay that for it assuming there's no major problems. and if he's "flexible" then i bet you could get him down to $13.5k or so. either way let us kno what you end up doin

What do you mean Lous? They are the masters of flow...get it? Get it? Haha......oh wait, I'm still holding my side....haha haha. Cmmm (clear throat)....SORRY. I'll go back to the Mustang site now.

But seriously, what's wrong with the way they flow? Is it the 3-chambers or 2-chambers that you don't like? Or is it all of them? I'm not doubting you but, where did you get that info. on them? What mufflers do you prefer more for sound and flow?

Mr. Luos
06-06-2006, 07:17 PM
Flowmasters don't flow.
They are one of the worst performing mufflers.

As I understand it, it is overall. Any of their mufflers.
If I could find the flow chart I would....but I am being lazy tonight.
Maybe later on.

If he's flexable, offer him $12,000 then he'll say $13,500, then you say I'll meet you halfway at $13,000. Or just act the poor kid part and only go up too 12,500 and say that's all you can get from the bank.

Mr. Luos
06-06-2006, 07:42 PM
I like Magnaflows.

But I am one that would rather have a great flowing muffler over a great sounding car.
But I do prefer the Magnaflow sound over the Flows as well.

i had a cat-back w/ a 40-series flowmaster on my grand am and i thought it sounded great for a 6 banger, and the performance increase was there too. certain mufflers just aren't very compatible with certain cars, and f-bodies with an 80-series flowmaster is a prime example. magnaflow or loudmouth is the way to go performance-wise (and sound-wise too imo).

My gosh. I knew that it flowed like crap, but that's ridiculous. Now i'm wondering if I am down on power or up on it. I added 4.10 gearing to my car after the dyno, but also changed the muffler from a flowmaster to a magnaflow (It's actually a catback exhaust which the previous owner had on the car, so all I had to do was change the muffler).

I'm almost curious enough to dyno my car now. Usually they say that you lose between 5-8whp with 4.10 gearing, but my guess is that the magnaflow will offset that loss. I'll try to find out in January.

giddyup50
06-14-2006, 05:44 PM
I wonder how Dynomax muffs. are. Anyone know?

How do you lose power with gears? They help you get the power to the ground quicker and get you up in the rpm's faster? Please explain, thanks.

Mr. Luos
06-14-2006, 06:29 PM
You show less on the dyno because it can't read the power properly.
You don't actually lose power.

2000LS1Z28
06-14-2006, 07:18 PM
Well we will see if I lose power. Going to the track Saturday. It'll be my 4th time to the track w/ the WS6 (Countless times with the Evo and former Z28).

Man, I hope I run atleast a 110mph trap speed. Here's hoping.

You know I had to give you some crap. Cmon, I'm the only regular Ford guy in here, it's my job to give you guys crap. I thank you guys for adopting me....well.....maybe....you guys just tolerate me. Oh well, that's good enough for me. My standards are low. Why do you think I talk to you guys?!
