Howdey all

I have recently purchased a revell Lamborghini 1/16 Countach that is 18-20yrs old and the body was warped

I have since tried reshaping the body with no success

I stupidly tried to heat it up with the hair dryer:nono: :icon16: and have warped it even more, so im after a replacment body

Any ideas on where i can get one, Im really pissed off as this car is my fav car and it cost me a good bit of cash as i bought it from the USA ( im in Australia )

If i can't replace the body i will still be building the rest of the car, just....topless:lol:

*bump* as I was about to ask the same, how to unwarp a super-warped body that seems to be standard with these kits.

well I have one that I intend to build that is new in box, unopened. Can I say thanks for the warning? just how badly is it warped? have you tried fitting the chassis to the body, maybe that will straighten it out. I mean the body gets pretty dog gone thin in places like the A-pillars, and lower door jambs, not to mention it's a full detail car with the front and rear lids opening. there's lots of room for flex there. and the glass, I bet it will help straighten things up too.

here's my tip, with such a large body, I'd say fill your bath tub up with hot water, as hot as you can stand it. shape the car to position under water, and pull it out and dunk it into a 5 gallon bucket of COLD water to get it to stay where you re-shaped it to. hair dryers and heat guns should stay FAR away from plastic models.

I have since purchased a whole kit from the USA that someone had started ( everthing was partly built except the body was untouched!!)

The warping on the 1st kit was quite bad, the doors were about 1-2cms out of wack, the glass was out of wack and there was a mild twist in the body, what i mean by twist is when you sit on a flat surface 2 corners at opposite sides would not sit flat.

I tried fixing the doors to the body for a few days with tape but it was no good

i tried the water trick but no good either, the hair drier just really stuffed it

I will keep the kit and maybe one day when my skills improve i might be able to do something with it!
