Hello all

Hello everyone, I was browsing and came accross this site. Nice site, I would have to say too many different categories, but with 35k plus members, I'm sure there is enough to go around.

A little about me, I am 25, and trying to start a new car company. I have been working on the company for 7 years and am now looking for investors. I hope this is not looked at as an advertisement, since I do plan on being an active member on here, depending on how the first few threads I make are responded to.

I hope I can find a good spot to post my company information, and even post some renderings to entice you all.

You are welcome here at AF, but be warned, spamming is not tolerated on here. If either of you continue to do so, you will be banned.

I think many people are set off by our size, but many of the active users utilize the "View New Posts" option, and also the "View Virgin Threads" option so that almost no posts go unnoticed... And every once in a while you'll stir up a conversation in a forum that you thought was dead. :) Our streetbike forum seemed to be deserted, but now we have a fairly regular posting basis just because we have a few devoted members to keep the topics moving along.

Like Spec2 said, spamming on here isn't tolerated, so keep it easy on the advertising. If you are TRULY interested in getting a lot of advertising, contact the webmaster Igor@af to make arrangements. I hope you both enjoy it here, and stick around for a while! We may have 35k members, but we aren't all that massive in actual posting size, so don't be scared to take a look around and ask questions as they come. :D

Spam on the internet is what webmasters loathe (just like people loathe the idea of eating that meat that Damien mentioned).

Spam is when a person actively tries to promote a website or other form of media to benefit themselves. Here, on AF, advertising can be arranged through Igor@af if you are at all interested. On occasion, a single-time, casual mention of another website can be permitted, but this is far more an exception and not the rule.

If anyone has any further questions regarding AF policy, please feel free to PM a moderator for a link to the AF guidelines that you approved of when you joined. :)

I plan on being a member here. If Panoz came on here before starting his company, would you have told him to not mention his company? Saleen?, Callaway?

first and foremost, I am an enthusiast. I am trying to start a company, yes. I am trying to find investors, yes. I don't have enough money to invest into advertising. This is why the best alternative is to locate and single out as large as an automobile enthusiast audience as possible.

I'm not posting a get rich quick scheme, I'm not posting something solely intended to make myself rich. I'm posting information to link prospective investors to an automobile enthusiast company.

If I become as big as or bigger than the names I mentioned above, do you really want me to be banned from this board?

If you have Igor’s permission then there is no problem.

I did read her post. My reply was in response to your message, not hers.

Sorry to get defensive, but this was my first post on here. It is not spam, and I was warned to never do it again, or I'd get banned.

Most people would take the 'POLITE' route of maybe saying "hey, maybe you didn't read all of the rules for registering, but we do not allow advertising on this board without the permission of the owner, his name is Igor and you can email him at... or PM him. Thanks for joining....."

You know, when You are a member at a dozen forums, you read the rules of the first one, maybe, then you remember how long the rules list is and you skip it the next few times.

If you knew how many spam threads we get on here with people saying “It’s not spam” and only joining to post as many threads as they can all over the place you might be able to understand a bit better.

Anyways........ Welcome to AF. Hope you enjoy your stay. (is that a bit better??? ) :D

yes, that was much better. lol.

I can understand your point, I guess with all the users you have, it would be attractive to spammers. I have to admit, that the number of members you have is what meade it attractive to me.

I guess from my perspective I would expect people to hold such a (some would say Moronic, but I'll say) courageous entrepreneurship to a different standard than someone posting "hey wanna make 10,000 dollars an hour stuffing envelopes? just got to this website....". Anyway, thanks for the much better reply, I hope to stay for a while...
