Just bought a 93 with about 85,000 miles. So far needs tires. It has a light lit for the supplemental restraint system. There is a noise above 40 mph that sounds like tatatatatatata. It is only there above 40. Seems to get faster as the speed increases. Doesn't change in drive or nuetral. I'm thinking bearing or cv joint but will replace the tires first.

I don't know anything about these Buicks. Seems to ride nice and handle well. Adequate power. Super cold AC. Plenty of room in the enbgine bay.

Any info or advice, general or specific, would be a help.

New tires. Bearings and CV joints are fine. Found a TSB on the rear struts making noise. Hope that pans out. Not a big deal but bugs me.

So far I have installed a muffler and rear wheel cylinders. Car runs fine and is very comfortable. Love the ice cold air.

A good place to start to find your car's general condition is to get the codes from the car's computer. To do this on your vehicle, take a paper clip or wire and with the key in the OFF position (or not in the ignition at all) jump spots A and B in the under dash wiring harness that sits directly below the steering wheel and towards the back of the under dash black plastic shield thing. You'll see it if you get your head down near the carpet. After jumping these two locations, turn the key to the RUN position (but DO NOT start the car). Now look at the Service Engine light (or whatever it says--it's not in front of me and I can't remember), it will blink once, then twice (meaning code 12 or "the system is working and if I have a code I will show it after I blink three times total for the code 12, just hold on"). This will repeat a total of three times. After this, if your car has any codes stored, they will be revealed by the number of times the light blinks. Each code is two digits. If it blinks six times, then six more times, you have a code 66 (low freon). Each complete code will blink three times to make sure you don't miss it. After all stored codes flash, then it will flash the code 12 again to let you know it is done revealing codes. If your car simply stays flashing 12 beyond three initial times, then you have no codes stored.

Report back what you find.
