matters, if you do it your self, it is a pain in the ass to do, but alot cheaper, your looking at like anywhere between 1 grand (do it yourself stock parts) all the way up to 3-4 grand (stroker or fully rebuilt engine to just be dropped in)

just buy jdm 90-92 model 6 bolt motor and drop in, but need some cut to fix the motor.

swap in a 6 bolt for ~1200 for a long block or even a complete motor

Mex I don't think a rebuild would cost quite $1000. Maybe between $600-700, but not quite $1000. It also depends on how many miles your motor has or not because then you may not have to replace the pistons and what not if it's still got decent miles on it.

well if you only bent the valves and did not damage the pistons, i would say $300 at the most with gaskets, 2g heads are cheap!! You might beable to pick one up for $150 in good shape.

If you are looking to do a 7bolt replacement I just met a guy that has a fully built BRAND new (meaning never ran or installed) 7bolt motor, I cant remember the brands he used for the internals (I will find out if you are interested), cams, pistons, rods...he sad he has 3-4 grand into and will sell it for 1,200....sorry I cant describe it better but I didnt really care to listen since I have a 6bolt. seems like a great deal if you are looking into a built 7bolt tho.
let me know if u are interested and I will track him down for more info

yeah that sounds good but i think it sounds a little fishy how he spent over 3k on it and wants to sell it for 1200, but if you could get me more info would be great, thanks

Well here's a whole kit from machv for $549 and includes everything that you could possibly need. http://machv.com/comenrebkit.html hopefully if that other engine doesn't work than that kit will work for you.

He wouldn't necessarily need even the whole head, just a couple of valves and guides if the pistons weren't fucked. Then it probably wouldn't cost you any more than $200.

yeah i'm hoping it was only the valves,i'll be happy to spend 300 on it, i'd buy me a 6 bolt if i had the money right now,

A shortblock is a full block (pistons, rods, oil pump, etc), but just the bottom end, no head or anything else. A longblock is almost a complete motor (minus a few sensors and what not (really depends on the business).

longemoco, go to dsmstyle and look in classifieds. There is a guy parting out his 1g DSM, I think he only wants like $1050 for the engine and AWD tranny. I dont know what it would be just the engine, but it would probably be fairly cheap.
