Since Lincoln doesn't provide you with a way of manually releasing the air from the suspension, you have to do it this way, which is not hard at all: Go to the trunk and switch off the air leveler, in the left rear side of the trunk. Jack up the rear of the car, put jackstands on either side, and up on each side of the rear airbag, where the line goe in, you will see a retainer ring. Pull it out, and SLOWLY rotate the fitting until you hear a "hiss" and allow the air pressure to come down. Be careful not to just twist it off, or it will blow the two "O" rings that seal it, across your driveway. Worse than that, the O rings may get damaged. Do both sides of the car. CAREFULLY put the O rings and clips back on, reconnecting the air lines.

After the air is gone from the airbags, turn the switch back on (the one in the trunk) and with the drivers door open, switch the ignition key on and off (not starting the car, just enough to get the dash lights on). This will reset (like a hot boot on a computer) the leveling system.

I've heard that you can disconnect and reconnect the battery a handful of times to get the same effect, but what do I know? Good luck!

You should check the leveling sensors. They look like small shocks on the axle somewhere. Are they connected. Something prob happened to them.
