CHANGE TRANS filter and FLUID!
ie: drop the trans pan, replace filter,
reinstall pan, add new ATF.

May as well change your oil while you are at it (every 3k).

on every mopar minivan

EVERY 50k miles.

Check your ATF and motor oil level before going up any big hill.

Travel light.

Keep a quart of ATF + III (for 3.3 and 3.8 v6 Mopar)
and a quart of motor oil IN YOUR VAN!

MARK MY WORDS!

If ever you feel a loss of power, pull over at the next flat spot and check your fluids.

TRUST ME, I have learned the hard way!

I speak from experience with

CARAVAN VOYAGER T & C

OTHER WISE:

if your engine and tranny overheat going up a big hill you might pay $1500 to $2,000 for new tranny.

Keep your heater on going uphill, it acts as a radiator.
It also gives you instant feedback as to how hot you are.

ATF filter and fluid service only costs $60-$120 depending on where you go.
I found it for $90, 120 and 125 in San Francisco and $60 in Palo Alto.

DO NOT go to STUPID jiffy lube and have them suck out your fluid and replace it for $90. That does not change the filter.
