a couple ? or mabe alot.

i am thinkin about gettin my friends 1992 talon turbo tomorrow befor he goes over seas.there is a crate engine in it with 40k miles on it.and a new turbo.and some other work but cabt remeber.i know he has some steal brading on itwhen i lifted the hood i seen it.and so on.it needs a rear rim.and tire couse its bent.and he needs some thing in the shifting in first gear wich is like $2 bucks he said.and the factory alarm is activated when he putes the battery wire on.so he cant start it becouse it goes crazy untill batteryu dies.but when he got it a couple months ago.he started it up at the kids hopuse and drove it with a flat tire.to his house up the road and hwen he did he floored it to see if it had power and the thing winded up nice and sounded nice.but he turbed it off and the alarm wnt crazy.so he never touched it after that.

so ?

i can get it for $1500.cause im his friend do u think its worth it.

and sence it has a newer crate ebgine in it should i still have the timing belt changed.

and are these cars reliable for daily drivigng if i maintain it rite.

and its been sittin for like 4-6 months whats some of the first things i should do.befor i try startin it.

and u guys gave me a thinmg on how to disconnect the factory alarm.will the car still run without the alarm.or is it hooked upto the ignition so it will kill it if i try and start it.

and if i do get the timing done.should i goto a mitsubishi place or a reg garadge..i remeber i went to a reg garadge for my water pump on my 92 talon a couple years ago and they messed teh whole thing up

$1000 TOPS.

Always a good idea to do a timing belt.

Any car is reliable if you take care of it and keep up on maintainence.

The stock alarm should not be doing this, I'm willing to bet its an aftermarket alarm because I had the same problem with a car that I bought.

Do a tune-up right after you get it running.

Any more questions?

:eek7: Shit homeboy, some correct punctuation and spelling will help you out a lot. Is the car AWD or FWD? If its AWD, I think that is a pretty good price. If its FWD, I would say closer to like $1200. The timing belt should be good another 20k miles or so, but it sure wouldnt hurt to do it now. Turbo DSM's have a horrible reputation for reliability. If you take good care of it, it shouldnt break all the time, but it will break occasionally. I would do a good tranny, oil, coolant, and transfer case and rear end (if you have them) fluid change, oil, air, and fuel filters, and check on its brakes and tires.

so its not worth the 1500.becouse thererpretty tight about the price.

it has a new crate engine thats 6 months old.new turbo.and other new stuff cant think of them now.all it needs is a rear rim.and some cheap part for 1rst gear.and the alarm thingdone.and then it will drive perfect i huess.befor the alarm thing ahppend started up all power turbo wined up when he got it.then it it calm down then the alarm went crazy.

so how much would u pay for it.and ill see what i could do ill see if they can get it to a nice price some one says.becouse i dont want to get it if its not worth that

Tell them you'll pay $1000 cash because there are some parts that need to be replaced. Or tell them you'll give them $1500 if they replace the parts and I bet they take your $1000 offer.

How is this a "crate" engine? They don't make crate engines for Mitsubishi's like they do the old Chevy and Ford muscle car motors. I don't get how it's considered a crate engine.

not sure,

but he just said its a crate engine.i think he means he brought the engine online at one of those import engine sites.and sence he just poped it in becouse its a factory engine with low miles, mabe he thinks of it as a crate engine.u know like the sites for civic engines the jdm sites like that.

so what you guys are saying is if its more then $1k then dont buy it

Well he might mean a rebuilt motor that he bought from someone like SBR, it's technically a crate motor. Albiet not like chevy/ford motors. Crate motor cause it comes in a crate container ;)

Also the factory alarm can and will do that. My 1g had the same problem. I'm very certain that it's the factory alarm.
