heat problem

I noticed awhile ago that the one of the exhaust bends go right behind the radiator fan. I have been watching this because, I figured it gets hot(duh) and might melt the fan. Well ladies and gentlemen, it finally happened. The end of two fan blades melted slightly. It is really no big deal because the blades are still in working order and they do not bang around the fan housing or anything. I plan on getting some exhaust wrap from summit ( http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D350101&N=4294923429+4294923290+4294918557+115&autoview=sku ) Another reason I want to wrap the down pipe is because the outlet of the turbo that connects to the IC piping goes like inches away from the same pipe. So, the air that is suppose to be getting cold and condensed is getting heat soaked first. I am sure the performance is suffering a bit because of this. I just thought I would put my situation out there for you all. I know not all IC pipe kits are the same but, I'm betting quiet a few put your IC pipe inches from your exhaust.

I think heat wrap is a good idea. And I think it will really help keep the underhood temperatures down. I wrapped my stock header for practice so that when I do it on my turbo header, I can make it look professional. When I turbo my car I am going to wrap the header, o2 housing and downpipe, and anything else that might generate heat. After that I'm going to seal it with the Thermotec spray paint stuff. Not only will it perform better...but it just looks sick.

I might do that if I ever get bored bot I havent had an issue with that...yet
