1993 Caprice Classic Surges

“I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY 1993 CAPRICE CLASSIC LS, 5.0 LITER, and FUEL INJECTION”



THE PROBLEM IS THAT AT A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT THE IDLE SURGES AND THE ENGINE WILL DIE IF I DO NOT PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL WHILE WAITING FOR LIGHT TO TURN GREEN. IT WILL ALSO SURGE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS AT TIMES, OTHER TIMES IT WILL RUN PERFECT AT ALL TIME. IS THERE A QUICK FIX FOR THIS OR SHOULD I TURN TO A MECHNIC.

You probably have dirty fuel injectors or a dirty fuel filter.

Is there an aftermarket source for injectors for the TBI Caprices? I looked at summit & jegs, but couldn't see anything. Has anyone tried the throttle body spacers made by a few different manufacturers?

Injectors for a Camaro will work as well - 305 is L03 and the 350 is L05. The Caprice got the L03/L05 in 1989, but the Camaro got them in 1987.
