1993 4.3 vortec stumbling randomly, stumped.

4.3 vortec oldsmobile bravada 1993, almost the same as the blazer. I 've already checked the fuel pressure, 60 psi, newer fuel filter. Good battery/alternator.

To sum it up, not an obvious fuel or air problem. New spark plugs/wires. EGR is clogged, but doesn't seem to effect anything other than a rough idle. I don't think this would cause the car to die. Spider injector diaphram recent.

While driving, the engine will stumble and cut out, happens at any speed/rpm, occasionally long enough for the car to stop. Then it will start. This is pretty dangerous when it happens on the highway or while I'm turning in traffic, so any help please?

I'm guessing the ignition switch, crankshaft sensor, some random sensor with the fuel or spark/computer. What might cause my random stumbling.

Try cleaning the EGR.

This is exactly what my '87 Buick did years ago. After replacing the crankshaft sensor, it never happened again. Two years after it was replaced by the dealer (under warranty) there was a recall issued by GM.
