the 67 mustang in the movie is powered by a
01 rb26 engine, and the 98 5spd nissan skyline 2wd tranny

What possible real world advantage is ther in putting a RB26DETT in rather then a S/C'd Ford motor?
the Ford GT has a ford engine in it, the Koegniggseg has a Ford engine in it, the Nobel GT has a Ford engine in it, there are dozens more Supercars with S/C'd Ford motors......where the fuck do you see a RB26DETT powered supercar? :disappoin

but i agree with you musashi, i don't see how dropping an RB26 into a mustang is gonna give it any advantage at all. :screwy:

And yes, Koenigsegg got rid of the Ford engine and have made their own, more powerful, stonger engine.

the RB26DETT was actually in the Tommy Kaira ZZ II. a 500hp Mid engine AWD beast that can hit 200mph.

also the advantage of having a RB26 in the stang is that it can rev sky high and much much broader power band. lets say 9000 rpm of revs and probrably 7000rpm of actual power.

Damn that car looks sweet, I always see it on Grand Turismo but I've never tried it, is it Japanese, kinda looks Euro but it has the RB so iono.

And about the Mustang I don't really care if you swap in a different engine, it's their car so if they want to do it, I say more power to them. I wish I had the kinda money to put badass engines in nice looking cars.

Yup, both the Detomaso Pantera and Detomaso Manguista (sp??) had ford engines in it.

I don't care if someone puts an italian engine in a british car or a US engine in a japanese car, so long as it adds something to it.

For instance, I think the V8RX7 is a great idea and once I pay off my 4Runner later this year, I will look into it seriously.

I'm not quite sure myself. you get rid of the rotary you have less reliability problems...that makes sense... you drop in an import motor for twice as much money then just building up the existing morot...well thats doesn't make much sense besides the...

What I think is really funny is in the trailor when the main character (owner of the Mustang) says, in a ginormous redneck, imbred voice, "I never really fit in, but I think I found my place" or something along those lines.
