i've notice whenever i' m idling or stopped at a light i get like a rattling noise from the area around that serpentine belt but as soon as i step on the gas it disappears i was told at first it was because i had 2 broken motor mounts and it would disappear once i replace them.well they've been replaced and noise still remains.can anyone help me with this.it's loud and driving me crazy.

thanks in advance.

Check your idler pulley and tensioner, then the water pump.

Have the same problem with my 97 G Voyager 3.3. I replaced the Serpentine belt but the problem got worse after driving about 200 miles. It is now squealing when I rev it up, too.
I replaced the idler pulley. No improvement.
Any idea what the problem might be? I tried to go down but couldn't figure out where the noise is coming from. This is an automatic tensioner. I don't know how the auto tensioner works but I am wondering if the spring or whatever is applying the tension has reduced its strength?
Thanks...

Removed the belt again and inspected the pulleys. Except for the new idler pulley, all pulleys don't wobble.
After reading past threads, I decided to just buy a new tensioner. But before installing it, I tried to put back the original idler pulley and didn't hear the noise anymore.
Aside from the belt work, I also flushed the coolant. I don't know if that helped to quiet down. I guess not.
What I suspect is the outside temperature or the humidity. The temp during that day was high as well as humidity. In the few old threads, it mentioned about slippage and squeals during rainy day. Their fix was replace the tensioner.
I will wait a couple of weeks and see if the noise would come back and will let you know.
