Hey guys, just wanted to post and say I just hit 100K miles on my 2000 Eclipse GT. Aside from the usual required stuff that needs to be done, nothing has given me problems. I change the oil every 3K miles with Mobil 1 Full synth 5W-30...and thats about it. Im gonna take it in here soon to get the 100K mile check and replace the timing belt, but other than that I dont think anything else needs to be done. Just thought Id post and let everyone know that "Lafawnduh" is still going strong, and I hope she stays that way for another 100K.

That's awesome! I am pushing 80,000 on my 2001. I bought it a year ago this June and when I got it, she only had 48,000. So yes, I put on some miles this year with my job. I have not had any major problems either and I hope I make it a lot longer as well. Just have to keep her clean and do the usual maint to her. I do have to replace my convertable top next winter as I am starting to get some leaks. I did hear that they only last about 5 years anyways.

NICE!!!, that makes me feel good about my 2000 GT I bought 4 months ago. I'm almost half way to 100k and I havent had any problems expect that stupid TOB noise.

Still got a way to go my. 2001 and she only is at 44,000 miles. I just noticed it the other day but since I got my new clutch put in the TOB noise has disappeared. If I would just find the time to put her new brakes and rotors on she would be set.

It's just getting broken in. My 87 Mirage Turbo went 306K before the head gasket went. That was the first real problem that car had. Why of why did I sell it?

Tops only last 5 years? Thats BS. My car is a 99 and the original top on it is in mint condition. Doesn't leak or anything.

Probably depends on the way the car is stored and what part of the country you live in. I don't think my car has ever been garage kept and we do get some pretty tough winters here in Illinois. That is awesome that your top is in such great condition cause they are not cheap to replace. Your car looks nice in the picture.

Yeah, My Sebring was a Convertable and I live in Nebraska...gotta love those bad Mid-West winters, and Blazing summers. What part of "The Land 'Oh Lincoln" are you from?

my dad's 97 convertible leaked from the day we got it, every time at the carwash we'd have to take a towel to keep the water from getting dif. places. the passenger side was the worst

Thanks for the compliment. I think my car was garage kept up until about a year ago (when I bought it). I live in North Carolina and we don't get hard winters. It just gets cold, thats about it.

Well I live about 70 miles south of Champaign in the middle of no where. Actually it's not a bad place. But your right about blazing hot summers and cold snowey winters. With no garage it really gives the top a beating. I don't think my 01 has ever seen a garage. My leaking problem isn't all that bad except around the back window. I can see where the seems are coming undone. I am putting a brand new top on this next winter. I am going with a black one this time instead of the tan one I currently have on there.

I know all about the great state of NC. I used to live in Wilmington, Jacksonville and then Raleigh. I love it down there and would move back in a heartbeat. If only my wife would see it my way...lol

Yeah, my Grandparents live in Urbana/Champaign, and most of my family has gone to University of Illinois in Champaign. Even there seems like it is in the middle of nowhere.
