Can anyone recommend a company (except from the dealership) that sells an extended warranty for a good value and what are your thoughts on purchasing it? Is it worth the Money????:grinno:

I'm not a fan of extended warranties, especially when they are not from the manufacturer. Sure, the dealer gets a huge kickback from the manufacturer, but if it's not backed by a reputable company such as the manufacturer, they may no longer be around when you need them. I'd be especially wary of GM extended warranties considering the financial issues they have now. Hopefully, it won't get that bad, but it might:cwm27:. It has happened to people quite often who have bought aftermarket warranties. Also, the fine print makes many of them worthless. They say we cover wear and tear items on the transmission with the ubiquitous ** beside it. When you read the fine print they cover everything except the stuff that is most likely to break. Do your research first about the company underwriting them and then read the fine pring and you should be ok.

One more thing, I wouldn't buy a warranty when you buy the car new. Wait unti the normal warranty is about to expire and decide then. You should have a good feel for how reliable the car will be by then.
