To all my fellow veterans, especially the ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice, the service to your country is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.
But always in our ears ring the ominous words of Plato, that wisest of all philosophers: "Only the dead have seen the end of war."
General Douglas MacArthur

I posted this in another thread but as I said I like this quote and think it goes well with today.
Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy forget in time that men have died to win them.
I wish all of our veterns the best and I'm very thankful for what they're doing and what they've done for us.

Note, I will ban the first person who mentions anything political, or negative in this thread.
"Least we forget".
"Least we forget".

People often forget what this day is about. It's to remember what was done to make your current life possible. Regardless of how you feel about current politics, the men and women who put their lives on the line for the ideals they believe in deserve to be remembered.
Thank you.
Thank you.

well, i didn't even know it was american remembrance day, but i'd like to thank the veterans because they didn't just save americans, they saved many others. had they not joined us over 60 years ago, i'd probably be typing in german right now.
edit: Canadian remembrance day is november 11th.
