Darn you vip09! you've got me addicted to boost!

i can't believe how much fun boost is, i've grown up with just big block v8's and stuff like that, and having a daily driver as S L O W as mine, i missed the beefy v8 and the roar of the exaust, but when i got into ryan's alltrac....

let it be known, i've never liked toyota.

back when i was growing up, my next door neighbors had 2 toyotas, a camry and a corolla. both of which were lemons, so it left a sour taste in my mouth.

i've known vip for gosh.... like 11 years now? off and on of course due to different schools and the like. however his celica was the first hint that maybe my thoughts about toyota were possibly incorrect.

i've ridden in the 13 second celica and it's a blast. it's like a roller coaster ride of sorts on the roads here in mobile. To hop into the awd alltrac.... was a completely different trip.

let it be known, before that day i had never been in a turbo'd or supercharged vehicle:banghead: . But when he installed his gauges (i helped...) we took it for a test drive.

when 4krpm's hit and the sound happened... it was like hopping into a space ship with a wasted alien at the wheel. from slow to swishhhhH!!!!

i looked at him and went "that is bad ass! i love boost!!!" that was at 7psi.

since then i've gotten in trouble with my fiance for wanting to turbo anything near me. including her tiburon.... which i'm buying from her (secret's out...) and going to turbo it.

I would turbo the J, but i'll leave that up to my brother if he wants that kind of headache.

I love v8's and na fast cars, but boost is awesome.

Hahah, I'm the same way, never driven a boosted car, ridden in a MKIII Supra but that was it. Always grew up on V8 cars and trucks and V6's. I was gonna swap out for more displacement but now I'm think of rebuilding and turboing the 4 cylinder.

Something about it is just calling out to me, maybe Jeckel&Hyde and his crazy ass MR2. Even though I wouldn't even need that much power, Id' be happy with 200 + or - 25 HP to the wheels.

I need TURBOZ DAMMIT.

yeah boost is definitly fun. when will vip turn up the boost? 7 psi is nothing on that car even if its on a T04 turbo. with his setup i'm guessing thats around 220whp or maybe alittle less since he has AWD.

well welcome to the boost is better club. heh

boost is definatly fun, i will admit it. my brothers avenger isnt even fast, but its really fun just to experience the boost.

but i still like my pushrods and large displacement. i like the lowend, and dependability.

well lets see... i have 3 fords. guess how many have had problems. zero. maybe im just lucky, maybe not, but lets not be ignorant. my mustang has 85k on it now, it has never had one part go bad, except normal maintanence like brake pads. i also have one chevy that had a problem one time, but its got over 150k miles on it... so its kinda understandable.

besides my point was that boost tends to kill engines faster and cause more reliability problems, in many cases.

I was stereotyping i.e. making a joke!

But now that u bring it up, a well made boosted engine has no problems. Boost in itself does not make an engine life shorter or cause problems, it's just when engines are not made well in general that causes problems.

e.g. look at the 2JZ-GTE or RB26DETT. Both boosted, both close to bulletproof. Could one state that they would be much stronger engines if not boosted.....it is hard to say. most likely yes, but by not much more, i would think minimal.

its cool... i was thinking you were joking, but it still kinda irritated me cause the rhetoric gets old...

you are right about boosted engines though, i tried to stick the disclaimer on the end of what i said by saying, "in many cases"
