1991 F-150 won't start

I have a 1991 Ford F-150 with a 5.0 liter. The other day I went to start it and it wouldn't start, and I found I had no spark by testing it. I have checked the ignition module on the distributor, and I have replaced the electronic piece inside the distributor with a piece from a working distributor. I have also hooked up a different coil and condesor from a different engine, and my truck still won't start. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Might be a bad distrubuator, mark it, take it out, have someone look at it, it must be put back in on the exact marks that you took it out.

I'm having the same exact issues on my neighbor's 5.8 litre engine. We just replaced the coil & EEC module on the distributor today with no success. Here's the strange thing. We are getting spark when in the key "run" position, but when you turn the key to the "start" position to crank the engine, the spark stops. All electrical troubleshooting using manual has turned up positive without issue. Any further ideas?

Thanks!

it might be something in the ign switch itself

Update: It turned out to be a shorted wire in the wiring harness. It took a mechanic about 3 weeks to find it.

...my 2 cents

It was not uncommon, (before the 91 model was when I was in business) for the ignition module, the electronic control unit itself to fail
