Hey guys this is my first post, but i've been reading this forum for about 2 years now. I was just wondering how much trouble do you think its going to be for me to drop in a crate engine. Its a 350 pumpin out 350 H.P, my LT1 has had it , its a turn key crate engine so how much trouble and work do you guys think im in for?
Any posts would be apprreciated

I have heard that the firewall can be a issue with a distributor. I would stick with LT1's and just drop in a healthier version if I were you. Plus 350 horse is very easily accomplished with a few mods.

Thanks for the post. And thats wut i would do, but i kno the guy selling this engine and its a real deal, so do you think it would be alot of trouble what would i have to do diffrently to drop it in it still is a 350, but if u think getting another LT1 would be a lot easier and still give me the same H.P, i guess i could wait a little while to get the engine.
Thanks for any replys.

I'm not sure what you mean by "turn key engine"? I put a crate 350 in my 83 but it was a long block. I had to install the intake, distributor, and other accessories. If it is a complete assembly, distributor and all, you may have to pull the distributor to get it in because of firewall clearance. I'm sure you will probably have to switch over some parts. Usually crate engines are pretty simple to install though.

Thanks 83, ya its a complete engine, turn key means, it runs right out of the box.
