The end of Musashi

Miyamoto Musashi was a famous Samurai warrior who lived in Japan from 1600 A.D. to 1645 A.D.
His book, "The book of Five Rings" depicts his life as a warrior, and artist, writter and sculpter. History tells us that he was never defeated and that he was Japan's most fierce warrior and greatest hero.
He was a master of his art, A self taught swordsman who defeated his first foe at the age of 13 and was a general by the age of 19. A ronin in his later years, he began a pilgrimige to fight the most famous swordsmen of his time. He travelled from village to village at first, hunting down school after school and challenging thier masters. As his reputation began to grow more and more warriors came his way only to be cut down. His stories are legendary his skill unmatched and his battles historic.
But even Musashi had to put his sword down eventually. His fianl years would be spent in a cottage on top of a mountain pass where he retired to.
Even Musashi's story eventually had to come to an end.

Last week the kid I sold the car to got into an accident. He turnned a corner and there was a guy leaving his driveway in an F150 and didnt look either way before going onto the street. The kid plowed into the rear of the truck at about 35-40 mph. the damages are for far more then the car is worth and the insurance has deamed it a tottal lost. Musashi's story once again comes to an end.

Oh the kid was fine after the accident. After he told me however he wassnt ok. I uppercut that bastard so hard I bruised my left middle knuckle on his third or fourth rib.
He was driving way too fast throught a ressidential and even though it was the truck's fault he didnt come out full way onto the street. the opposite lane was open. Had it been me I could of side stepped and avoided it but eh, hes a rookie.

It sucks, you all know how much I loved that car. But Young is right, I think most of us if not all knew that it wouldnt last long without me.

The cool thing is that as long as this community remains then Musashi is immortalized in all the stories I posted about us. In essence the car lives on thanks to this forum. :)

I knew we should of gotten rid of the eclipse and let me have her. She would of lived a hell of a lot longer with me than with a rookie.

the kid dossent have a job anymore so no way he can come up with the rest.
either way, even if he rebuilt it, it just wouldnt be the same car.
My Musashi was pefect, flawless, a freaking demon of a car and never gave me any crap.
after a hit like that it would just start to break down and fall appart little by little. It just wouldnt be the stone wolf it was with me.

Damn dude, that is horrible....I think I woulda uppercut that kid too.... I'm very passionate about my car, I just couldn't imagine it being totalled like that. That's why I'm selling my SL to my mom when I get my VR4. She's been taking care of it while I'm overseas, and she's fallen in love with 3/s as well....

He was a simple car just asked for alittle love, care, and some High Octane. One day he was taken off into the hands of a young buck. The kid was eager to learn from the master. The master taught him well but the pupil was over confident and Musashi took the kid for one last lesson even though it cost him his life.

well now that you mention that a kid in our city crashed his motorcycle (doing 100somethin stupidly) and killed himself.... a friend of his took part of his handle bar and made it into a necklace so its kinda that same idea

Oh you guys dont know the worst part, the insurance company offered the kid a check for 5700 to buy the car as a total loss but the kid said he wanted to fix the car so instead they only gave him 4000 to fix it.So the kid pretty much owned himself. I told Musashi that he should offer to buy some of the parts so he could toss one of those mufflers my way and keep 2 of those rims for himself to drag on the goat.

Anyway its a sad day! a moment of silence for us all... but really it wasnt the same car as soon as you stopped driving it man.. its crazy how these objects can seem to become intertwined with ourselves as if they had a real soul of there own.....

yeah... I'll always have a place in my head for my 5.0 firebird... and it was a true beater by the end.
