okay, I almost died of ectasy today. Pulled into the parking lot at 9:30 at the Mont Tremblant track, first thing I heard was some beauties singing on the track.
A little what appaered to be a samll Alfa was bombing aorund follwed by a spiffy Early 40's Maserati (never caught the name) The little "Alfa" actually turned out to be a ferrari 166MM.
The main Ferrari lot (where all the nic cars parked) had about 20 Ferraris by the end of the day they were:
1974 246 Dino
1983 512 BB
Various 308 and 328's
at least 5 360 Modenas
6 or 7 348 spiders, TS' & TB's.
5 or 6 355's
A Testarossa
456 GT (Driven by what looked like a Tennis player chick)
It was quite nice, at any given time, there were at least 4 or 5 nice Porsches in there too. When we were watch the 360 Challenge races, a british guy was commenting on the leaders, we thought he was just a hardcore race fan, but when we came back to the paddocks, he was leaving in his 348! I was impressed.
Now for the paddocks.
1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB
1966-70 ish ferrari 330 P3/P4 (The guy said it actually was a P3/P4, I have no idea what's going on)
5 early 1970's Ferrari 512 BB race models
1934 Maserati
The 166MM
Early Testarossa, with pontoon fenders
40 Ferrari 360 Challenges (at least)
3 ferrari 360 Spiders
S 55 AMG, CL 600, new SL500
2 hidden 333 SP's in trailers
512 Pb ???
I took a good long look at the P3/P4, the evil mechanic said it wasn't a 330 when it clearly was. Another guy said it was a P3/P4, only 4 are running in the world, looks an awful lot like a P4, the pics will decide. The 512 I have no idea aobut, the wheels look like it, but it looks liek a Ferrari '917K'.
The 360 Challenge cars were amazing, we had almost no restrctions, the cars would start up and run along right beside you. You could walk along beside the running cars, talk to the drivers and such. I was very impressed.
One Italian guy had the S 55, 360 Spider, 333SP, P3/P4, 2 512 BB's (race) and the old testarosssa, he was also bombing aorund in a go kart. The car seat in his S55 was matching hand stiched leather. Quite wealthy.
Unfortnately, some of the 360's got bnaged up pretty bad, and I tried to get a piece of Carbon Fiber, but the track officials starting getting all upset (It was after the race and we were crossing the track)
And in town, they had a few displays there. A regular :D 355 Challenge, an F50 !!!!!! OMG I took like 10 pics! And even more exicting a 1963 250 GTO!!!!!!!! One of 39 in the world. I was speechless. Getting pics developed, expect them up sometime this week. I also saw two F 550's bombing around town.
I had never had a such a fun day ever. If you ever heard some good muscle cars, times it by 100 and you'll get the note of those 512 BB's. OMG straight pipes kick ass. My heart is still doing 140.
F50!
