New AFI

anyone like AFI here and excited for the new album?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm curious to see what it sounds like.

same here. i saw them in '01, they opened for Anti-Flag. Now, they're even bigger than them. i still liked anti-flag better back in '01, i think both bands kinda lost their edge imo.

I think the new album is amazing...it has some sounds of everything they have ever done. Its not quite as dark as sing the sorrow but it still has a very mellow attitude. If you like AFI I think you will like this album as well. The only thing it really misses is the secret song that they always put after the last song but it dosent really matter that is just a add on. Go and buy it....it is worth it.

I'll get it for free somewhere :smile:. I've gotta really REALLY like an artist to purchase the album, otherwise I'll download it to see how it sounds and if I don't like it, I get rid of it :smile:.

actually, thats exactly what i do. who knows how much money i've wasted on crappy CDs. If i own a burned CD of an artist, its cuz they're good. If i own the actual CD, it means they're damn good.

from what i've heard off this album... i don't think i'll be buying it.

Their new album is even more garbage than Sing Sorrow or whatever. I don't know how they went from straight punk to trendy hardcore in only like 5 years, but it blows. Sometimes I give Shut Your Mouth some play, but AFI really has gone down the shitter.

^imo, +1. nothing like what i saw in '01. And on that, Anti-Flag has lost some of their edge, too. I dunno, most punk bands get worse as they grow in popularity, however redundant that may sound.
