How is the ride with coilovers?

*I SEARCHED* I had the Eibach prokit and KYB AGX struts on my last cavy and the roads are too bumpy around here to have a comfortable ride. The stock springs/struts on my new cavy are so comfortable I love the ride that the stock stuff gives but I would like to get that lower look for atleast pictures and possibly shows/meets. So what I'm asking is how are adjustable coilovers? What is the ride like? I don't want anything rough or hard on bumps, I know it could mess up my alignment but I would mostly keep them raised up close to stock height, I would only lower them for pics or possibly shows like I said. Any insight would be great, thanks people.

Its going to be worse with coilovers than with what you had with the prokit and AGX combo. The lower you go the harsher the ride. Personally, go with the same setup, just adjust the dampening to a softer setting. Thats what they are adjustable for. I've rode in 4 different j-bodys with all different setups, and honestly the coil overs were the worst ride. Ground control and Koni. Stiff as all hell, no bounce and hugged the road like crazy, but you feel everything. In all retrospect you could go with a set of H&R springs which is a milder drop than the prokit and that possibly would be less harsh. But if your only going to do this for shows, then its pretty stupid.
