Ok, I have found two cars locally, first is a 1979 Trans-Am, the other is a 1968 Catalina. I want to know which one you folks think I should buy, and also what you think they're worth.

Large dent in roof where original hood flew up and hit
Crappy looking non-original sun-roof
4"x3" Rust hole behind drivers door

Rust holes in inner wheel wells
Rust rear subframe rails(not through)
Nice solid trunk floor and floor pans.

Swirled aluminum guage cluster trim(aftermarket or stock?)

Rest of dash and guage cluster very nice

ok all i got to was the 455 in the trans am and walla you just found a diamond in the ruff....the 455 trans am is one of the most wanted of all the trans ams..also the th-400 is a great transmission i have it in my 79 trans am as the 12 bolt rear end i havent seem to yet have a problem with...sounds like a deal to me how much are they asking though?

Im going to have to agree that the Trans-Am seems better from the description, but needs some body work. The Catalina has a good motor, but how many miles are on these motors? Have either been built recently? By who? The solid floor pans in the bird is a big plus. The outer body work is fairly easy compared to having to cut out and weld in new floor pans. The roof dent might be a bit of a pain, but it depends on where the creases are. Any chance of pics? Also, yea, what are the asking prices?
