brake pad problem

ok i just changed all the front brakes(rotor,caliper, pads)and the pads don't touch 100% on the rotor.(as if the pads are not square with the rotor.) looks liek i put everthign on fine. not many places to go wrong with calipers. anyone know what the problem might be. oh and both sides are the same(prob something i did wrong)

what you mean they dont touch 100%? where calipers marked Right/Left? Can you get a pic of what you are talking bout?

ya exactly! it is kinda inpossible to install the calipers on the wrong side

did you put the pads on upsidedown....it really wont go back togather wrong...

Dude, youd be more likely to put them on the wrong side then to put em in upside down..being that it is impossible! I cant even imagine them fitting that way...

ya for sure, i am sure they are on the right side and for sure not upside down. the only thing that i could see is that i didn't use and shims. are they nesesary casue the old pads had some.

Check your caliper slide pins, they're probably dried and/or rusted. GL A picture would help... ;) :lol: j/k

lol. everthing is new calipers sliders and all. ya pics but i don't think that you can see much with a pic, its hundreds of and inch we are talking about here.but i will try to figure out soemthing for a pic. thanks

How did the old pads look, Did they display the same angles?
If it is only hundreth's of an inch it might be designed into the calipers, Maybe to minimumize sweaking.(spelling)sorry!

Also did you use anti sweak on the back of the pads? You said you didn't use the shims, may I ask why? They were designed for them!

ya the oild pads that had the shims had the same wear. and yes the calipers are the right ones. i didn't use the shims cause the old ones were worn out and the new pads didn't come with any so i didn't think it was nesessary.i guess they are more nesessary then i thought
