Help Please!!! Asap!

i need Help!!! I have an 89 civic hatch. I just bought a head unit off ebay, i know what all the wires are for in my car and i know what the wires are for on my head unit. But theres an illumination wire on my car, but the head unit doesnt have one. and the head unit has a dimmer wire and my car doesnt have one. How the hell would i wire that up to make it work??? When i wire up the ground and the constant 12 volt and i turn my car on you can hear the cd player trying to read a cd. but The power on the radio wont turn on.:banghead: :banghead: I need help please!!!

Yeah...there are two 12v inputs on a head..a constant 12v(fused yellow), and an ignition wire(red)..so that your clock and such stay powered and it turns on when the key is turned...your illumination wire and dimmer are probably6 the same thing, with different words..telling us which head unit you have could help, Ive insyalled several brands and different types..even in boats (thats really weird to do, no ignition wire).

Its a Clarion Head unit but i figured it out! Thanks anyways. Now i just need to find out what size the door speakers are b/c they are junk lol. Its an 89 civic hatch Thanks!

6 1/2" will fit it...
