Stuck brake drums- help please!

'97 GA SE V6

I'm doing my first brake job. The fronts went just fine, but now I'm doing the back. Got the wheels off, but the drums are completely stuck. I've tried soaking them overnight in WD40 (sprayed into the center hub and the wheel studs), and hammering on them until my ears are ringing. Nothing- but I've got large piles of flaked off rust under each of them now. The hand brake is fully down. Haynes says somethng about retracting the shoes, but I can find no way of doing it. I've searched all over the back plate with a light and hand mirror, but can find no way of accessing an adjusting screw. Also, if the drum were caught on the unretracted shoes, would the drum be at least loose on the spindle? They don't move at all- only rotate.

Also, can anyone give me any guidance on getting rotors and drums machined? What's a fair price?

Be carefull beating the drums, they can crack/break.

Try a small prybar, or a large screw driver, stick it into the drum/brake pad area and pull the tool, so to pry them a little working around the drum. With prying, and lite taping around the center part, and the WD40, it should pop off there. Just takes patients :)
They do rust on pretty good sometimes.
Also make sure one of the studs dont hav a damn retainer clip hold the thing on.

the retractor/adjuster is inside , an oval black rubber plug in the bottom back side of the break plate. the plug should pop out much easier than the drums.
A straight slot screw driver will work(or a break adjuster tool) to adjust them.

Machining varies from place to place. But $20-30 a pair should be expected. Mush more and you could be new ones.
